Welcome!

Welcome!

Welcome to the Hidden Lake Community meeting place. The purpose of this site is to open communication throughout our community. Let's share news and discuss issues here that pertain to our community and town. Let's keep our lovely Hidden Lake a nice place to live for all of us.

The blog was created by your neighbors, Mannish and me because we believe that our neighborhood needs more connection and an open forum for regular communication. We do hope you'll contribute to discussions and comment on blogs that cover important issues. We invite you to share photos, news and even recommend or request local services and businesses. We encourage you to check into the Hidden Lake Blog regularly so you know what is going on in your neighborhood.

All community members can comment on blogs, however, if you want to initiate blogs, please let me know because we will have to set you up with authorship. We would like to have a variety of bloggers so we please volunteer. It is a great way to reach out to the community from the comfort of your home.

If you need instruction on navegating our blog, just let us know and we'll arrange a tutorial meeting.

Please let your neighbors know about this blog. As of this writing we have only a few email addresses to send invitations, however, we are looking forward to reaching everyone in the community who has a computer.

Thank you for reading this first blog and I look forward to more exchanges..

Parking Issues

Parking Issues

I'm wondering what the board will do next regarding the parking controversy. It seems the matter should be solved peacefully and without disrupting the no-problem areas or the beauty of our neighborhood. I would like them to tell us what they plan to do, rather than setting up another vote...ie spending money on lawyers, ballots and a site. It would be better to establish a mutually agreeable proposal with the community at large...many who spoke at the recent meeting, rather than have go through the expense of setting up a referendum which may not be fair. I mean..if 80% of the people who actually vote agree with a referendum..that leaves 20% who don't...and that 20% is probably more than the number of currently disgruntled residents. More offer to work with the board to solve this problem was refused. Why?

Neighbors...please stay on top of this! Let your neighbors know we do not want(nor do we want to pay for) having our streets white lined and numbered. Quite simply: let's look at the few really serious parking complaints and try to deal with them separately.

White resin fences? Where did that come from.

Greetings Georgian Residents: Personally, I think the white resin fences are unattractive and they don't match our community. I also wonder what they will look like as they age. Will we then be told to replace($$$$) rather than touch up paint? I've noticed white resin lawn furniture gets totally skanky after a few years..and am wondering if our fences will, too...and then we'll have to use bleach to clean them. What about our flowers, tomatoes...and the environment???

I also don't like being ORDERED to do this. That fence and space is mine in our fee simple community. I firmly believe the board should have had an open community meeting about this before ordering everyone to make this change, without legal right to do so.

If you like the white resin fences because you find beauty in their low maintenance and don't see that they don't match...do you honestly think it was right to mandate this without a meeting or vote? It is a major change. Do you want a community that is run this way? I have a solution for maintanence issues of the old fences...and it is simple.

Now that some of these fences are up...and most are still in the former style...well...pretty mismatched.

If we had a meeting...we could have discussed this and decided if this was the best way for our community.

Please send a note to the Hidden Lake PUD asking for a meeting to discuss this...and don't think for a minute you are legally obligated to be obedient to this mandate.
